RYE, NH & MAINE – Marion Pinette Hathaway died October 26, 2013, at the age of 103, 8 months, 11 days. Marion was born on Feb. 15, 1910, in Eagle Lake, ME, a daughter of Amos Sr. and Anna (Laferriere) Pinette.
Marion grew up in Portage Lake, ME, and worked and married in Fort Fairfield, ME. She and Roy moved to Milford, NH, in 1950. Upon retirement, they enjoyed their home for the winter in Zephyrhills, FL, and summered in Portage Lake with family and friends. It was a joyous retirement. Marion spent her last 24 years living with her daughter Sheila and family in Rye, NH. She was extraordinarily helpful and loving and brought so much joy to the family.
Marion was an awesome mother, grandmother, homemaker and friend. All who knew her were amazed by her faith, humor, courage, empathy, joy of life, inquisitive mind and common sense. Her memory was astounding and she always had entertaining stories to tell. Her hands were always busy cooking, knitting, letter writing or gardening. She will be missed so completely by all her family and friends. Her deep faith was her comfort and an inspiration to all who knew her.
Marion was predeceased by her beloved husband of 51 years, Leroy Hathaway; siblings, Wilbert, Emily, Evelyn, “Buster”, Amos Jr., Essie and Oren; and two children Stella and “Jim”. She is survived by her children, Susie Bouchard, Dolly, and husband, Gil Donnelly, Dale and wife, Rose Hathaway and Sheila Jeter. She has enjoyed 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 2, at Rye Congregational Church, 580 Washington Road, Rye, NH. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 3, at Portage Lake Municipal Cemetery, Portage Lake.
