On Sunday, Oct. 6, the Lunar and Tillikum Chapters of the Order of Eastern Star competed in a boisterous Wii bowling tournament, played on the hardwood floors of the Pioneer Lodge in Ashland. After a hard-fought, round robin tournament, the score was so close, a “bowl off” of the Chapter Worthy Matrons was needed to determine the winner! With the final box complete, the Tillikum Chapter of Ashland emerged victorious by three points. A fun day was had by all.
Tourism Committee looking for new members, volunteers
The Portage Lake Tourism Committee needs your help! They are currently recruiting new members (and/or volunteers) who are willing to work hard to help promote the wonderful little town of Portage Lake.
With the 2014 World Acadian Congress being held in northern Maine, Portage Lake will be in the heart of the celebrations. It is expected that thousands of tourists will be visiting the area. There is a lot that needs to be done in preparation and they need your help! Please consider joining their group and giving back to your community.
