COLUMBUS, OHIO & LIMESTONE – Lucille A. St. Amand, 85, wife of the late Rosario L. “Rosie” St. Amand, passed away Thursday morning, October 17, 2013, at a Columbus, Ohio healthcare facility following an extended illness. She was born December 30, 1927, in Limestone, the daughter of Louis and Lena (Johndro) O’bar.
Lucille was a graduate of the Limestone High School, class of 1945 and was married to Rosario L. St. Amand on November 19, 1945. She was a communicant of the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Louis Catholic Church, Limestone, and had been employed at the Loring Air Force Base, Limestone in their housekeeping department for over thirty years. She had been residing in Columbus, Ohio for the past two years.
Lucille will be remembered as a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her contagious laugh never failed to lift the spirits of those around her. She truly loved and was loved.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. St. Amand was predeceased by her husband, Rosario “Rosie” on January 13, 2006; and two sisters, Leona Shelton, and Rita Raymond. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley J. and George Filko of Columbus, Ohio; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Eugenia and Gene Bellar of San Diego, CA, Sylvia and Joe Waselaski of Wilmington, NC, Anastasia Dubay of East Hartford, CT; two granddaughters, Dawn Filko and Lisa Paglione and her husband, Joe, all of Columbus, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Lucille’s request, calling hours will be private for the family. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Louis Catholic Church, 100 Main Street, Limestone with Father Jean-Paul Labrie celebrant. Interment will take place at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Limestone. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held at the church reception area immediately following the interment service. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. St. Amand to the St. Louis Catholic Church Memorial Fund, c/o the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Louis Catholic Church Memorial Fund, P.O.
