Myrtle “Skip” Ada Jardine

     JARDINE, Myrtle “Skip” Ada, 97, PRESQUE ISLE, Oct. 13, 2013. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wed., Oct. 16, at Riverside Cemetery in Washburn. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.

      PRESQUE ISLE – Myrtle “Skip” Ada Jardine, 97, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2013, at a Presque Isle assisted living facility. Myrtle was born in Perham on December 30, 1915, the daughter of Harold and Bernice (White) Umphrey.
    Myrtle graduated from Washburn High School in 1934 and Ricker Junior College in 1936. She married Quentin William Jardine on October 12, 1939, and they were married for almost 61 years. She was the Librarian of Washburn Memorial Library for 15 years, and was a charter member of the Salmon Brook Historical Society of Washburn. She was also an active member of the State Street Baptist Church in Presque Isle. The last thirteen years, she has lived at Leisure Village in Presque Isle where she had many friends.
    Myrtle is survived by her children and their spouses, Roger and Pamela Jardine, Ruth and Robert Leland; a grandson and his wife, Chad and Tina Jardine, and her grandsons, Tyler and Anthony. She is also survived by her siblings, Avis Johnson and Heber Umphrey; and a brother-in-law, Erwin Rowe.
    In addition to her parents, Myrtle was predeceased by her husband, Quentin.
    A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at Riverside Cemetery in Washburn. A time of visitation will be held the same day at 12 noon at State Street Baptist Church in Presque Isle, followed by a Memorial Service. A reception will follow services at the church.
