    NEW SWEDEN – Following a long courageous battle with cancer, Donna M. Hewitt, Wife, Daughter, Mother, Grandmother, Sister and dear friend to many, passed away at her home on October 7, 2013, with her husband and children at her side. Donna was born in Worcester, Mass., October 16, 1964, to Ronald and Mary (McCarthy) Tetreault.
    She was married to Michael Hewitt on July 3, 2005, on Lucia Beach in Owls Head, ME.
    She is survived by her parents of Oxford, Mass.; her loving husband, Michael of New Sweden; daughters, Laura Brigley of New Sweden, Stephanie Brigley of Clinton, Mass., Danielle and her husband, Seth Plante, of Stockholm; sons, Jamey Brigley of Caribou, and Jeff Lamoureux of Worcester, Mass.; stepdaughter, Kaylyn Hewitt and her partner, Kenny Reno, of Presque Isle; and stepson, Adam Hewitt and his wife, Beth, of Wells, ME; her precious granddaughters, Aubrey Plante and Anna Hewitt; grandsons, Aaron Lamoureux, Jayden Brigley, Allen Plante, and Christian Hewitt-Reno; her brother, Ronnie Tetreault of Webster, Mass.; her sister, Gerri and her husband, Ron Stetson, of Millers Falls, Mass.; brothers-in-law, Carl Hewitt and his wife, Anne, of Sterling, Mass., David Hewitt and his wife, Albertine, of New Sweden; and sister-in-law, Beverly Derrah and her husband, George, of Limestone. She is also survived by a very special “Uncle Paul and Aunt Pat” Tetreault of Hope, ME, who were like a second set of parents to her; several aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
    Donna’s passion was decorating her home inside and out particularly during the holidays and entertaining her friends in her home. Donna also loved moose; so much so, she devoted an entire room in her home to them.
    The family would like to thank Dr. Garrett and her staff at the Lafayette Cancer Center in Brewer and Dr. Kirtani and her staff at Aroostook Cancer Care in Presque Isle, and Visiting Nurses of Aroostook for all of their care over the past few years. We want to thank one of her best friends and neighbor, Jean Anderson, for all of her care and compassion which allowed Donna to spend the last days of her life at home with her family and friends.
    Following Donna’s wishes, there will be no funeral service, however a celebration of her life was held on Saturday, October 12, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Mike and Donna’s home, 441 Station Rd., New Sweden.
