A Sherman Flag Committee has been formed.
Deb Long was discussing the fact the town didn’t have any flags like they once did with Rick Allen, who said he would do what he could to help.
Allen asked to use the town’s bandstand for a food sale and Long put out a bulletin within the town announcing their effort of putting flags downtown. Cost is $42 for each flag and pole.
With the help of friends, the small group held their first fundraiser on Sept. 14, which turned out to be very successful. They also put a contribution jar on the counter for those who wanted to donate.
Heading up the fundraising is Long, Allen, Lisa Allen, Justin Allen, Roger Bouchard and Rick Long.
Ray McGraw was the winner of the 50-50 draw and donated his winnings back to the effort.
Donations can still be made to Deb Long or Rick Allen of Sherman. Any amount would be greatly appreciated.
