Five win free flights in Great Golf Ball Drop
PRESQUE ISLE — Five lucky individuals won free roundtrip airline tickets from Presque Isle to Boston courtesy of the exciting “Great Golf Ball Drop” held at the conclusion of TAMC’s TAKE FLIGHT! event held Saturday, Oct. 5 at Northern Maine Regional Airport. PenAir and Coca-Cola collaborated to sponsor the ball drop.

FIVE LUCKY Central Aroostook residents won a free roundtrip ticket on PenAir from Presque Isle to Boston during TAKE FLIGHT’S Great Golf Ball Drop. Taking part in the ticket presentation were, from left: Jason Parent, director of advancement at TAMC; Tony Phillips, general manager of Coca-Cola in northern Maine; Ellen Nickerson, manager of PenAir in Presque Isle; and ticket winners Donna Lisnik, Crystal Boyce and Leasha Law, all of Presque Isle, along with Carrie Winslow of Mapleton. LOOK OUT BELOW! — Members of the Presque Isle Fire Department dropped 1,000 golf balls from their ladder truck during the Great Golf Ball Drop that took place at the conclusion of TAKE FLIGHT! activities Oct. 5. The drop was sponsored by PenAir and Coca-Cola.
The first 1,000 adults to enter the TAMC Health Fair in the commercial hangar had the opportunity to sign up to be a part of the golf ball drop when they stopped by the PenAir and TAMC Welcome Center. Attendees signed up on a numbered ticket at no cost. The Presque Isle Fire Department then dropped 1,000 numbered golf balls from their ladder truck over a target on the ground in front of the Coca-Cola building. Individuals with a ticket number that matched the five balls that landed closest to the bulls-eye won a trip from Presque Isle to Boston, compliments of PenAir.
Lucky winners were Crystal Boyce, Leasha Law, Donna Lisnik, Allyson Plummer and Carrie Winslow.
“This was a great opportunity for us to showcase the flight service we offer and the great things happening at the airport,” said Kristin Folmar, director of sales and marketing for PenAir. Folmar, based in PenAir’s Anchorage, Alaska office, traveled to Presque Isle to take part in the event.
In addition to the five winners of the Great Golf Ball Drop, PenAir awarded another five free roundtrip flights as a door prize at their welcome booth during TAKE FLIGHT! Those trips went to Araee Somard, Roger Condon Sr., Diana Nadeau, Jon Lowery and Mackenzee Michaud.
In addition to partnering with PenAir on the Great Golf Ball Drop, Coca-Cola was on site at the airport handing out free samples of their healthy beverage line.
“This was a great community event, and we were happy to have the chance to be there meeting so many people,” said Tony Phillips, general manager of Coca-Cola in northern Maine. “This really was like an open house of sorts for us.”
