CARIBOU, Maine — Caribou City Councilors approved a union contract for the public works department on Monday night during a special city council meeting.
Details regarding the contract were unavailable, but on Tuesday morning City Manager Austin Bleess expressed his opinion that it’s a good contract for everybody.
Negotiations between the city and union representing the Public Works Department — the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 220 — have been ongoing for about a year.
