THE STAR-HERALD and Print Works were among the more than 30 vendors that participated in Saturday’s first-ever TAKE FLIGHT! event at the Northern Maine Regional Airport in Presque Isle.
Employees provided free hot dogs to attendees while accepting donations for the Crown Critical Care Transport. At the end of the day, community members donated $620. The companies decided to match the amount bringing the total donation to $1,240. Attending a check presentation Tuesday morning were, from left: Ben Everett, supervisor of Crown Emergency Care; AJ Gagnon, manager of Crown Critical Care Transport; Scott Galipeau, advertising representative for The Star-Herald; Fay York, sales representative for Print Works; and Jocelyn Gagnon, granddaughter of Print Works employee Kirk Lilley, both of whom helped serve hot dogs. Roughly 1,000 hot dogs were cooked and given to TAKE FLIGHT! attendees. The extra hot dogs were donated to the Sister Mary O’Donnell Shelter. Among Saturday’s TAKE FLIGHT! activities included a plane parade, helicopter fly-in, live patient air flight demonstrations, TAMC’s Fall Health Fair, a community vendor fair, and the PenAir/Coca-Cola Great Golf Ball Drop.
