Officiating classes
    IAABO Board 150, representing Aroostook County, will offer classes for prospective basketball officials beginning Sept. 30 at Presque Isle High School.

    The meeting time for the Monday classes is 7-9 p.m. and the cost is $40. For more information, contact Harry Orser at 425-4451.
Golf tourney results
    The Cornerstone Classic Golf Tournament was held Sept. 14 at Presque Isle Country Club, with the team of Tim Gagnon, Adam Robertson and Jenna Hallett taking first place for low gross with a 64 and the team of Bud Fancy, Seth Fancy and Phil Halvorson winning low net with a 59.
    The second-place low gross team, with a 65, consisted of Rick Collins, Ryan Umphrey and Jon Humphrey. In third was the trio of Ron McAtee, Gary Nadeau and Eric Brown, who came in with a 72.
    For net, the runners-up were George McLaughlin, Dan Boyd and Anthony Fabian, who carded a 60. In third was the team of Dominic Bua, Jesse Harris and Greg Whitaker with a 62.
    Four closest to the pin prizes were also awarded. Hallett was first twice, at hole No. 4 and No. 17; Al Irving at No. 8 and Halvorson at No. 16. Ron McAtee was the longest drive champion.
Youth soccer clinics in FF
    The Fort Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department is conducting free soccer clinics for boys and girls in grades 2-8 on Monday, Sept. 30 on the Charlie Lockhart Memorial Field, located behind FFHS.
    Boys and girls in grades 2-5 will meet from 10 a.m.-noon while boys and girls in grades 6-8 will meet from 1-3 p.m. Each clinic will emphasize age specific skills, small group activities, and full field game situations. The rain date is Thursday, Oct. 3. For more information, please call 472-3882.
