Adult education courses offered

    The Houlton/Hodgdon Adult Education program is offering the following courses. To register for these classes or for more information, call 521-3100 ext. 5.
Cooking Creative and Traditional
    Houlton Hodgdon Adult Education‘s new cooking class has been rescheduled to meet Thursday evenings beginning Oct. 3 for nine sessions through Dec. 5.

    Whether you want to improve your meal presentation skills, make an ethic dish, or learn to make boutique bread, this class will allow you to learn something different each week. The instructor, Donald Holston, brings a rich culinary educational and career background to the class and wants to meet the needs of the class.
    To accomplish this, the first class will focus on determining what the class is most interested in learning. The course fee is $30, but you do not need to pay until the second class meeting. The class will meet from 6-9 pm at the Houlton High School, Oct. 3-Dec. 5, 2013.
Woodworking Rescheduled to start Oct. 3rd
    Houlton Hodgdon Adult Education’s Woodworking class will start on Thursday, Oct. 3. This is a nine-session course that will meet on Thursdays from 5-7 p.m. at the Houlton High School shop. Woodworking is a project-based course and is open to beginners and experienced woodworkers. Personal safety is a major component and will be discussed at the first class and demonstrated throughout the course. The instructor is Fred Pelletier and the course fee is $50. You must provide your own materials.
