Houlton golfers compete in regionals, win Aroostook League honors

The Houlton High School golf team captured the Aroostook League crown on Monday by defeating visiting Presque Isle, 167-174.
Houlton holds a 6-1 record, while Presque Isle slipped to 5-2.

Low medalist Monday at the Houlton Community Golf Club was Ryan Dee, shooting a 39.

The Houlton Shiretowners now prepare for the Penobscot Valley Conference Championship on Thursday, as well as the regional meet at JaTo Highlands in Lincoln.
Houlton scores were as follows: Cameron J. Clark, 41; Garrett Putnam, 42; Parker Brewer, 46; Caleb Tribou, 45; Kyle Bouchard, 48; Cameron E. Clark, 61; Lexi Emerson, 49; and Piper Flewelling, 54.
For Presque Isle, Michael Boone, 41; Karson Eaton, 48; Jenna Hallett, 43; Josh Gordon, 45; Liam Hughes, 49; Carter LaPointe, 47; and Hunter Flynn, 45.
Over the weekend, the Houlton golfers defeated Mattanawcook Academy, Fort Kent and Penobscot Valley at JaTo Highlands.
Houlton scored a 161, while Mattanawcook had 181; Fort Kent, 214 and PVHS, 216.
Leading Houlton were Dee and Cameron J. Clark, who each scored a 39 to tie for low medalist honors. Brewer had a 42; Putnam, 44; Bouchard, 41 and Cameron E. Clark, 52.
Presque Isle and Houlton had met last Thursday at the Houlton Golf Club, with the Shiretowners coming out on top 167-173.
Cameron J. Clark took low-medalist honors with a score of 37.
Other Houlton scores were: Putnam, 41; Brewer, 43; Dee, 46; Bouchard, 53; Cameron E. Clark, 56; Tribou, 54; and Emerson, 57.
