CARIBOU — The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center invite members of the community to participate in an opportunity to learn about the health insurance marketplace in Maine.
Health insurance specialist Jennifer Syria of CMS will do a presentation on where consumers can go to learn about health insurance, get accurate information on different plans and make apples-to-apples comparisons of private insurance plans at the Caribou Wellness Center, located at 55 Bennett Drive, on Monday, Sept. 23, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Attendees will learn about two new programs that will help lower monthly insurance premiums and co-pays when visiting a physician while also previewing the single application that will be used to determine eligibility into the programs.
CMS will also share information on the community resources available to individuals who are seeking help applying for insurance throughout open enrollment.
