Congratulations to our own Betty Smallwood and Bev Osborne for winning their divisions at the Upper St John Valley Senior Ladies League Tournament at VaJoWa on Wednesday Sept. 4. Betty was the overall winner of this great event hosted by VaJoWa.
Winners of the Twilite League Championship were Jon Smallwood and Stu Kelly. They defeated Bill Dwyer and Warren Walker and have the bragging rights for 2013.
Congratulations to Warren Walker for receiving the President’s Trophy from the Upper St John Valley Senior League for the best average score of 73.25.
Coming on Saturday Sept. 14 will be a Red, White and Blue Scramble starting at 9 a.m. and on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. a four-person scramble in Memory of Jeanette Harvey. The Couples will wrap up their season weekly scrambles on Sept. 28 with a mixed person scramble at 1p.m. followed by a dinner.
There is a bit of color appearing on the hills around VaJoWa. Soon they will be bursting with red, orange and yellow and the golf experience at VaJoWa will be heightened by the beauty of the surrounding hills. Come out and enjoy some early fall golf.
