CARIBOU — The Thursdays on Sweden bi-weekly events put on by the city of Caribou and the Caribou Area Chamber of Commerce throughout the summer continue to draw big crowds, despite the dropping temperatures and earlier sunsets that mark late summer evenings.
This past week’s event, a holdover from the previous week due to inclement weather, also saw competition from a Caribou-Presque Isle soccer game. But even the legendary sports rivalry could not stop visitors from dropping by to don a lei for the luau theme, eat some great food, do a little dancing, limbo and hula-hooping, and shop at the many vendors set up along the sidewalks.
Another Thursdays on Sweden will be held this Thursday, Sept. 5, with an international theme. Festivities begin at 6 p.m. and last until 9 p.m.
