Runners make debut in Houlton

    The first varsity cross-country meet was held Thursday, Aug. 22 at Houlton Community Park with Greater Houlton Christian Academy hosting the event.

    Overall winners on the 2.7-mile course were Fort Kent’s Matt Toussaint with a time of 18:08 and Washburn’s Carmen Bragg at 23:10.
The Fort Kent boys team won the meet with 25 points and Washburn finished with 30. GHCA did not have enough runners to make up a team as it takes five runners to designate a team.
The Washburn won the girls meet with a score of 15. GHCA, Fort Kent and Houlton did not have enough members to make up a team.
