The Houlton High School varsity football season begins on Monday, Aug. 19 from 9-11 a.m. at Lowery Field behind Houlton Southside School. In addition, these practices will resume from 5-7 p.m. These double sessions will run from Monday through Friday on the first week.
Attendance at these sessions is mandatory to insure commitment, fitness and game playing time.
All candidates are requested to wear cleats and shorts and bring bottled water. The first week is devoted to conditioning. No contact will begin until three sessions of conditioning are completed for each individual player.
Candidates are reminded to have up to date physicals, verify academic eligibility and parental permission slips available if not already attended to.
The varsity will have a controlled scrimmage at the McIntyre Field in Hodgdon on Monday, Aug. 26 at 5 p.m.
