HOULTON — The “children of Just for Kids” summer playground, sponsored by the Houlton Recreation Department, will be holding their annual Peanut Parade and Carnival.
The parade is set for Wednesday, Aug. 7 at 10 a.m. through downtown Houlton.
The Peanut Carnival will be held on Thursday, Aug. 8 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Pleasant Street tennis courts. In case of rain, the carnival moves inside the Gentle Memorial Building.
The highlight of the evening will be the crowning of the 2013 Peanut King and Queen at 8 p.m. in the rec center gymnasium.
