DANFORTH — Year after year, the town of Danforth tries to outdo itself when it comes to celebrating the summer with its annual Summerfest celebration.
With its lavish parade, featuring a multitude of decorative floats and costumed participants, to the many childrens’ games and street dancing, Danforth Summerfest offers a variety of events for young and old alike.
“Many of the townspeople wanted a Halloween theme, so we decided to go with it,” said April Doane, organizer of the Summerfest. “We are doing a trunk or treat on Saturday night at 7 p.m., so if anyone wants to decorate the trunk of car or pick-up truck and pass out candy, please do so.”
Trophies will be awarded for the best decorated entries in the trunk-or-treat event, as well as the parade. Once again fireworks will be included in the celebration at the East Grand Community School.
Doane said this was the final year she would be organizing the festival.
