Trash choices in Star City
To the editor:
I would like the residents of Presque Isle to know that they don’t have to use the Pay As You Throw any more if you choose to.
I was told by a good friend of mine that he was having his trash hauled off for $35 a month (the old way) for the past two months. So I did some calling to our two trash haulers, and it’s true. The haulers are giving the residents the option to haul your trash off the old way or to use the orange bags. So now, Presque Isle, you can call your haulers and get your trash hauled — back to normal.
I would like to add that I still would like to see the residents still recycle. It’s real important to our community to keep recycling.
Also for the past two months, the wonderful residents of Presque Isle have spoken out about the PAYT, either for it or against it, at the City Council meetings and also in the newspaper. I want to thank everyone who spoke out. That’s what it’s all about, getting your voices heard. Thank you, Presque Isle.
