As usual, there will be two tables of home baked goodies, featuring homemade bread and pies and possibly, homemade donut holes and homemade ice cream.
On sale will be tickets for a painting done in 1977 by Nina Sawyer, local artist.
Mary Pipes is a patient at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor and I am sure she would like to receive cards from her many friends and acquaintances wishing her well.
I had the good luck about a week ago to have two deer wandering around my back lawn and grazing on the bushes there. I watched them for about 20 minutes and then the heavy rain started and they very quickly made for the shelter of the trees on the edge of my lawn. They were back again in a couple of days so maybe they will be there more often now.
I had a hummingbird feeder right outside my kitchen window that had attracted several of the little birds and a couple of days ago looked out and there were several hornets also attracted to the feeder buzzing around my window. I didn’t like that so I got a dipper full of water, took off the screen and threw some water several times on the feeder. That quickly discouraged the hornets and when they had left I took off the screen, collected the water filled hummingbird feeder and put in new food and rehung the feeder in my cedar tree where the hornets may possibly find it again but at least they won’t be near the house. The hummingbirds sure found the new place for the feeder with no problem.
