garner awards at ceremony
WASHBURN — Washburn District High School held its spring sports awards assembly on June 12 at the Doc Albert Gymnasium.

THE COACH’S AWARD recipient for track and field this spring at Washburn was Kennedy Churchill.
WASHBURN’S Most Improved Athlete for track and field this spring was Reuben Roman.
Tammy Tatlock presented awards to the girls’ varsity softball team. Receiving certificates and pins were Rayah Saucier, Courtney Cannon, Carmen Bragg, Rachel Rossignol, Nicole Olson, Lucia Bragg, Hannah Heald, Mikayla Churchill, Catelyn Coulombe, Grace Braley, Liza Durette, Laina Mettte, Brittany Corey, and Managers Owen James and Caitlyn Roix.
Receiving certificates for being named All-Aroostook were Rayah Saucier and Carmen Bragg.
Carmen Bragg and Tatlock were chosen to participate in the Junior Softball Showcase and Saucier was named to the Senior All-Star Team.
Carmen Bragg was named the team’s Most Valuable Player. Churchill received the Coach’s Award and Coulombe was named the Rookie of the Year.
Varsity baseball coach Ben Goodwin presented certificates and pins to Nick Bragg, Justin Farley, Chandler Dobson, Keagan Page, Anthony Singletary, Michael Ericson, Noah Farley, Noah Caron, Justin Davis, Carter Doak, Brandon Farley, Parker Thompson and managers Maegan Fitzpatrick and Mariena Bragg.
Nick Bragg was named Most Valuable Player. Noah Farley received the Gold Glove Award and Justin Farley the Coach’s Award. Bragg also received a certificate for being named All-Aroostook.
Varsity track and field coach Sean Diette presented certificates and pins to Kennedy Churchill, Carsyn Koch, Marianne Helton, Joan Overman, Tyra Shaw, Alexa Woodman, Mariah Campbell, Justin Farley and Reuben Roman.
Receiving third-year letter plaques were Farley, Churchill and Koch. Receiving certificates for being named All-Aroostook were Overman and Koch.
Named the Most Improved Athlete was Reuben Roman. The Coach’s Award went to Kennedy Churchill. Koch was named the Most Valuable Track Athlete.
Athletic director Ron Ericson and the coaches recognized Chandler Dobson, Parker Thompson, Noah Caron, Michael Ericson, Nicole Olson, Lucia Bragg, Mariena Bragg and Laina Mette for earning four varsity letters during the 2012-13 school year.
Ericson also presented Varsity Club jackets to Dobson, Ericson and Fitzpatrick.
