July is here and VaJoWa is hoping for more sun and great golfing days ahead.
Men’s Tuesday Twilight League is in full swing. Winning their matches last week were Steve and Parker Walker, Stu Kelly and Jon Smallwood, Warren Walker and Bill Dwyer. Ralph Powers and Ted Pettingill, Brent Kelly and Tom Daggett and Tom Ryan and Reid Stanley. Warren Walker was the winner of the closest to the pin on No. 4 with a 14 feet, 6 inches and on No. 7 with 13 feet, 9 inches.
Everyone is looking forward to the 4th of July “Flag Day” Tournament. Start any time before 3 p.m. Each participant receives a flag and a target score based on par (72) plus your handicap. When you reach your target score plant your flag. It will be great to see the course decorated with the American Flag in honor of this great day in history. Come out and join the friendly competition and celebrate Independence Day.
Some great work is being done with the “Adopt a Hole” program. It is great to see the members taking pride in the course with willing spirits, able bodies, and great ideas to improve the look and function of the course.
