STACYVILLE — Boston Red Sox legend Bernie Carbo will make a special appearance in Aroostook County on Wednesday, June 26.
Carbo, who is forever remembered by Red Sox fans for hitting the game-tying homerun in game six of the 1975 World Series, will appear at the Stetson Memorial Methodist Church in Stacyville at 6 p.m. A potluck supper will follow.
Carbo will share his inspirational story on how he overcame his inner demons and struggles with drugs and alcohol, by converting to Christianity from atheism. He will also sign copies of his book “Saving Bernie Carbo,” which was co-written with Dr. Peter Hantzis.
