The 12th annual Memorial Tournament was held last Saturday on a beautiful sunny day — finally. The team of Greg Palmer, Peter Stanley, Dave Edgar and Sean Dolomont eked out a one-stroke victory over the second-place team of Gabe Goodwin, Dan Peabody, Nick Skehan and P. J. Madore. Net champions were the team of Andrew and Cheryl Peabody, Misty and Tony Marino, followed by the team of Bill and Louann Dwyer and Cindy and Wayne Floyd.
Thank you, Dave Tuttle, for his touching words of remembrance to our departed members, and to all who played, making this day a huge success.

A correction from last week’s edition. The annual Alumni Social at the clubhouse is Friday, July 5 from 4-7 p.m., not Saturday, July 6. Also on Friday, July 5, is the Houlton High School Class of ’73 reunion.
The next tournament scheduled is the Annual Houlton High School Alumni Scramble. This nine-hole event will be played Saturday morning at 9 a.m. on July 6. Get your four-person teams ready and sign up now, or if you haven’t a team, sign up and we will place you on a team. You do not have to be a Houlton High School alumnus to play. Junior golf begins Tuesday, June 25. All nine to 15 year olds are invited to attend this six-week clinic. Cost of the clinic is $40.
Entrants for the yearly President’s Cup Championship are needed. If you are interested in playing in this match-play event, call or sign up at the clubhouse. This event is bracketed, then played throughout the summer.
With the summer now upon us, sunny weather and a golf course in great condition, there has been lots of play with a full course already common. Feel free to call the clubhouse or check our website for all the daily special play and events.
