LITTLETON – Avis C. Hanning, 87, went home to be with her Lord June 11 in Houlton. She was born November 30, 1925 in Bangor, the daughter of Clarence and Vera (Norris) Betham.
Avis was a graduate of Bangor High School in 1943.
She is survived by two sisters, Bunny Nanni of Barhamsted, CT, Donna Burdick of New Hartford, CT; a brother, Owen Betham of Torrington, CT; several nieces, nephews and her close friends, Bruce and Colleen Anderson. She was precedeceased by her parents; her husband, Laurence; two sisters, Charlotte Robinson and Clarice Babcock; two brothers, Leland and Eugene.
Friends called 3-4 p.m. on Saturday at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water Street, Houlton where funeral services were held 4 p.m. with the Rev. Ruland Gardner officiating. Interment will be in the Littleton Cemetery. For an online memory book and to leave condolences please visit www.bowersfuneral.com.
