LePage, in partnership with the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy, unveiled on June 5 called “Maine’s Love.Read.Learn! Baby Journal.” The goal for the book was to promote a life of wellness for a child through engaging a “healthy-mind, healthy-body” themed journal. The staff at Houlton Regional Hospital will be able to provide the keepsake as a gift to new moms and dads as they prepare to take their baby home. It is filled with learning activities, book recommendations, nutritious kid-friendly recipes and a handy immunization chart. There is also space to jot down first words, favorites stories and to add photographs. LePage visited Houlton Regional Hospital Thursday as part of a tour of Aroostook County.
