• STACYVILLE — The district budget meeting for the RSU 50 school budget will be held Thursday, June 13, at 7 p.m. at Katahdin High School. The budget for 2013-14 is $9,390,151, which is an increase of 1.39 percent.
• HODGDON — A public hearing for the SAD 70 school budget will be held Tuesday, June 18, at 7 p.m. at Hodgdon High School, while the district budget meeting is set for Tuesday, June 25. The 2013-14 budget is $6,381,989, which is an increase of 1.59 percent.
• HOULTON — The American Legion Post No. 47 reminds residents that worn out American flags should be disposed of properly. A ceremony is intended to accord the flag of the United States of the appropriate honors upon disposal.
Members of the public can drop off unserviceable flags for disposal at the Legion Post on Bangor Street on Flag Day, Friday, June 14 at 7 p.m. The rain date is Monday, June 17.
• The Region Two CTE Adult Education program is offering a first aid course on Tuesday, June. 25, from 5:30-9 p.m. at the Hodgdon Fire Department.
