Music event
to celebrate Fort’s new health center
FORT FAIRFIELD — Pines Health Services will host a concert at Farm Park Saturday, June 15 to celebrate the opening of its newest office, the Kimball Community Health Center, located at 11 Harmony Lane in Fort Fairfield.
The event, dubbed the inaugural Pines Summer Music Festival, will feature two local bands, The Fiddle Heads and French Toast. The concert will begin at 6 p.m. and run through 10 p.m., with each band playing two sets. Tickets to the event are $10 and may be purchased at any Pines Health Services office or at the gate. Stev Rogeski of Fort Fairfield is organizing the event.
“The opening of our community’s new health center is really a milestone for Fort Fairfield,” said Rogeski, who is also a member of the Pines board of directors. “We felt it would be great to bring everyone together to celebrate at Farm Park with some great local music and to have a good time.”
Farm Park is a venue that hosts the annual County Bluegrass Festival, a gospel music show and a variety of other activities. One unique element of the venue is the large-covered pavilion, enabling events to take place rain or shine.
“With the weather we’ve had recently, it’s nice to have a facility where several hundred people can gather under one roof and not be bothered by rain,” said Rogeski. “The pavilion has sides that can be rolled down if the weather should turn nasty, so weather won’t be a barrier for concert-goers to enjoy the event.”
The new Kimball Community Health Center offers primary care, behavioral health, case management, prescription assistance and rehabilitation services. In response to community needs, Pines physicians in specialties such as pediatrics and general surgery will be added as schedules develop. The Pines team has received a very warm welcome from the people of Fort Fairfield.
“People in Fort Fairfield have welcomed us with open arms,” said Jim Davis, Pines CEO. “It’s a privilege for us to be invited into the community. We’re excited to be in Fort Fairfield. Thanks to great work by town officials and the entire community, the beautiful new health center is now a reality. We look forward to serving the community, and hope to see music lovers at the festival Saturday night as we say thanks.”
Both bands on Saturday night’s program, French Toast and the Fiddle Heads, are from the St. John Valley. The Fiddle Heads play country-style music while French Toast is a traditional rock band. The bands enjoy a strong local following which organizers hope will launch the event’s success, leading to an annual musical celebration for the community.
