Volleyball camp offered

    The University of Maine at Presque Isle volleyball program will hold a summer skills camp the week of July 22-26. The camp is open to girls entering sixth through 12th grades and takes place in Wieden Hall on the UMPI campus.
    Owl head volleyball coach Mark Kornachuk will direct the camp.
    The clinic will be held daily from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and the cost is $50, which includes a camp T-shirt. Team discounts are available. For more information, contact Kornachuk at Mark.kornachuk@gmail.com or 999-9836.

Flag football tourney

    The Aroostook Huskies Football Club is holding a co-ed flag football tournament Sunday, June 23 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. at Sincock Field in Caribou.
    The registration fee for the double-elimination tourney is $150 per team, which may consist of a roster of up to 12 players. Four males and four females must be on the field at all times.
    Every player will receive a commemorative T-shirt and the winning team will receive a trophy.
    The first eight teams to register will be accepted. USA Football flag football rules will apply. Concessions will be available at the field.
    All proceeds will benefit the Huskies’ football program.

Running camp starts Thursday

    Youth who would like to learn more about running and other facets of fitness will have an opportunity to do so by attending Little Musterds Running Camp, which is being held on behalf of the Aroostook Musterds Running Club over seven weeks beginning Thursday, June 6.
    The camp, being held in Caribou, is for boys and girls currently in grades 3-7.
    Every session of the running camp will take place at the Caribou High School track.
    The program will meet June 6 and 13 from 3:30-5 p.m. and on June 20 and 27 and July 2, 11 and 18 from 3-4:30 p.m.
    The cost is $5 per session or $30 for all seven sessions. Students signing up for every session will receive a program T-shirt.

Wildcat Basketball Camp

    The girls and boys varsity basketball staffs are offering their 19th annual Wildcat Basketball Camp at Presque Isle High School for any interested SAD 1 student. All girls and boys entering grades 3-8 for the 2012-13 school year are welcome to attend.
    The camp will be held June 11-15. To afford each group more playing time, the camp will be divided into two sessions. Students entering grades 3-5 will play in the first session from 5-7 p.m. and those entering grades 6-8 will play in the second session from 7-9 p.m.
    The cost is $40 per student, with families with two or three children signing up receiving discounts.

Milk Run scheduled

    MAPLETON — A road race has been added to the events of Farm Fest at Maple Meadow Farms in June.
    The Maine Dairy Promotion Board will sponsor the Farm Fest 5K Milk Run, which will start at 8 a.m. on Sunday, June 30. The race is open to all ages and is a 3.2-mile easy to moderate course.
    The course starts with a low gradual hill, flattens a bit, turns into a downhill and ends on a moderate hill that turns into a flat. It starts at Rt. 163, turns left onto the Griffin Ridge Road, bears right onto the Garland Road and a left back on to Rt. 163. There will be water stops at miles one and two and the finish. The race begins and ends at Maple Meadow Farms.
    Each participant will receive a T-shirt and goodie bag. The cost is $20 and registrations will be accepted at the Maine Dairy Promotion Board’s booth at Farm Fest on Saturday, June 29 or anytime online at www.raceit.com.
