Rotarians hopeful community will help spruce up downtown park

LIMESTONE — The epigram “many hands make light work” comes into play this weekend, when Limestone Rotarians are hoping that the community will turn out to help beautify the downtown park by planting a few shrubs and possibly a tree or two.

The Community Work Day begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 8 and everyone is asked to lend a hand — young and not-so-young alike.
Rotarians have already coordinated plans for planting grass seed and covering the future grass it with loam — community volunteers won’t be asked to do that on the work day.
Instead, they’ll be asked to get their hands dirty by maybe planting a few hostas and other greenery that will further the Rotarian’s efforts to build Limestone a downtown park.
As many hands make light work, not enough hands mean a lot of work for a few people — community members are encouraged to volunteer an hour or so of their time putting in a little elbow grease to help improve Limestone’s aesthetic.
Participants are asked to meet at the park, weather permitting.
