PRESQUE ISLE — Officials are still investigating a fire Thursday, May 30, at a home on the McBurnie Road.

“The Presque Isle Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 65 McBurnie Rd. The call was received at 8:09 p.m.,” said Captain Vince Baldwin, of the PIFD.
Baldwin said firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze shortly after arriving on scene.
“With a quick response, we were able to keep the fire damage to a minimum. The fire started in the living room on the couch,” Baldwin said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to Baldwin.
A total of 18 firefighters, one engine and two tankers responded to the fire. Mutual aid was provided by the Washburn and Mapleton fire departments.
“Everyone got out of the home safely. There were no injuries,” said Baldwin.
