CROUSEVILLE – Herbert G. Olson, 87, passed away Tues., May 28, 2013, at the Maine Veterans Home in Caribou with family at his side.
Herbert served his country in World War II in the 101st Airborne (Screaming Eagles). He received the Purple Heart while serving his country. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and the Elks Club. He was a loving compassionate father and husband.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marie Olson of Crouseville; six children, Thomas Olson and his wife, Bette of Crouseville, Dale Olson and fiancé, Diane Fillman of Anchorage, Alaska, Sheila Bishop and her husband, Dave of Washburn, Mark Olson and fiancé, Penny Ellis of Washburn, Sherrie Carmichael and husband, Mark of Mapleton, Scott Olson and wife, Jennifer of Crouseville; six granddaughters; two grandsons; and eight great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind one sister, Anita Jones of Anchorage, Alaska; and one brother, Albert Olson of Conn.
