SCOTT, Robert E., Sr., 86, PRESQUE ISLE, at Mars Hill, May 23, 2013. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.
PRESQUE ISLE – Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Robert E. Scott, Sr., 86, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013, at a Mars Hill Health Care facility. Robert was born in North New Portland on September 2, 1926, the son of the late William and Althea (Starbird) Scott.
Robert was a 1947 Graduate of Skowhegan Business School and a proud World War II Navy Veteran. He was part of Troop C, Maine State Police, Asst. Superintendent of Baxter Canning Factory, Traffic Manager for Potato Service Inc., and established Maine Truck Brokers in 1966. He went on to set up the Aroostook Regional Transportation System for the Elderly. He also served as the Director of Health and Nutrition Services for the Aroostook County Action Program before retiring.
Robert is survived by his wife of 66 years, Athylie (Lee) Scott; his children and their spouses, Donna and David Thibault of Mapleton, Robert Jr. and Yin (Chun Wau) Scott of Presque Isle, Michael and Karen Scott of Springfield, MI, Katherine and Stephen Waugh of Bangor, Patricia Kinney and Jim Finnemore of Presque Isle, Richard Scott of Presque Isle, and Matthew and Susan Scott of Hampden. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, Owen and Noah Thibault, and Sarah Hamel; Geoffrey and Lara Scott; Sean Scott and Sandy Howell, Kim Moran, Faith Kirk, and Erin Everett; Michael and Christopher Waugh; Joshua Kinney; Germaine, Adam and Rachel Scott; Samuel, Cameron, Ryan and Zachary Scott; 14 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Nicholas Scott; and great-granddaughter, Naomi Waugh.
Robert will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was a wonderful Patriarch who loved his family and always had a wonderful smile, sense of humor, and a warm hug.
