LIMESTONE — Forty-three Sitel employees were evacuated from their building in the Loring Commerce Center around 3:30 p.m. on Monday, after the call center received a bomb threat.

Limestone police officers responded to the scene, assisted by volunteer firefighters through the Limestone Fire Department and by U.S. Border Patrol agents.
“Members of the fire department conducted a room-to-room search of the facility with nothing found to confirm the threat,” said Chief of the Limestone Police Department Stacey Mahan in a press release on Monday.
The Limestone Sitel facility currently employs 192 people, but Vice President of Global Product Management and Marketing Andrew Kokes explained that due to low staffing associated with the holiday, only 43 employees were affected.
“Sitel has a document business continuity plan that was successfully executed during this event to ensure the safety of our agents and minimal business impact to our clients,” Kokes said.
“We follow the current business continuity plan to ensure the safety of all employees, and the staff was 100 percent on point,” said Site Director of the Limestone Sitel facility Robbie Jalbert. “Employees were allowed to return to work once the police gave the ok to re-enter the building.”
Mahan stated that the police department is investigating the origin of the call.
