Prayer services scheduled
for Memorial Day weekend
Special prayer services will be held at 12 Catholic cemeteries in northern Maine during Memorial Day Weekend — Saturday, May 25 through Monday, May 27.
Events are scheduled for the following locations and times: Ashland — St. Mark’s Cemetery on Sunday, May 26 at 11:30 a.m.; Caribou — Old Holy Rosary Cemetery on Monday, May 27 at 9:30 a.m., New Holy Rosary Cemetery on Monday, May 27 at 10 a.m. and North Caribou at Sacred Heart Cemetery on Saturday, May 25 at 6:30 p.m.; Fort Fairfield — St. Denis Cemetery on Sunday, May 26 at noon; Houlton — Old St. Mary’s Cemetery on Saturday, May 25 following 6 p.m. mass and St. Mary’s Cemetery on Monday, May 27 at 9 a.m.; Island Falls — St. Agnes Cemetery on Sunday, May 26 following 10:30 a.m. mass; Limestone — St. Louis Cemetery on Sunday, May 26 at noon; Portage — Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery on Sunday, May 26 at 10 a.m.; Presque Isle — St. Mary’s Cemetery on Monday, May 27 at 9 a.m.; and Stockholm — St. Theresa’s Cemetery on Saturday, May 25 at 5 p.m.
Fr. Jean-Paul Labrie, Pastor of Parish of the Precious Blood, will participate in a ceremony at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Caribou on Monday at 1 p.m.
