Memorial Day Parades

  MEMORIAL DAY parades will take place in Presque Isle on Monday, May 27, with a ceremony at Fairmount Cemetery, followed by lineup at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.

     The parade will head north on Main Street  at 10 a.m., stopping at Park Street for the traditional throwing of the wreath in the Presque Isle Stream honoring those lost at sea. The event concludes at Veterans Memorial Park across from Freshies. A parade will also take place in Mapleton  at 2 p.m. Parade lineup will begin at 1 p.m. on the Dudley Road on the west side of Mapleton. The parade will travel from the Dudley Road to the Mapleton Elementary School. Following the parade, the Mapleton Lions Club will conduct the Remembrance Ceremony for military personnel from the tri-community who gave of themselves in the wars and armed conflicts of the United States. The ceremony will be held at the Veterans Memorial Monument in front of the school.
