EMILY STAETZ, left, and Rossalyn Buck, second-graders at Mapleton Elementary School, worked diligently for most of a week preparing signs and treats for their afterschool snack bar and lemonade stand. The two girls, with the help of Emily’s brother, Ben, earned $22.32. The girls decided to donate their earnings to their school’s “Penny Drive for C.A.N.C.E.R.” Each year for the past few years, the school has had several community service projects to benefit the local organization. If you or your business is interested in helping Mapleton Elementary’s efforts, please contact the school at 764-1589.
