BUSINESS TRIP
The University of Maine at Presque Isle Business Club traveled to Philadelphia during April break to tour ARAMARK’s Innovations Center. Officials from ARAMARK, the University’s food service provider, led the tour of the center, located in the Wanamaker Building in Philadelphia.

The tour started with a delicious breakfast prepared by ARAMARK’s very own chefs. After spending time with the chefs over breakfast, Betsy Rosenblum, director of food and beverage development, shared ARAMARK’s history while the group explored the Innovations Center. UMPI business students learned the culture of ARAMARK is one of continual growth, innovative marketing and employee appreciation. As stated on ARAMARK’s website, its culture led to recognition as the No. 1 company in “Fortune” magazine’s 2011 list of “World’s Most Admired Companies.” ARAMARK has consistently ranked as one of the top three most admired companies in the industry, with approximately 255,000 employees serving clients in 22 countries. Pausing for a photo during the tour are, from left to right, front row: UMPI student Andrea Hill, UMPI Business Club Adviser Stacey Emery, ARAMARK’s Director of Food and Beverage Development Betsy Rosenblum, Development Chef Bill Allen, UMPI student John Haddad, Development Chef Charles Schermer and Director of Culinary Chef Scott Zahren. In back: UMPI students Cody Humphrey, Matt Vick, Mike Picard, Mario Fula and Mark Bartlett. Missing from the photo was UMPI student Taylor Ussery.
