Big Cheese Pizza in Caribou held a fundraiser for Girl Scout troops 709 and 405 on April 10, offering medium pepperoni pizzas for $3.99. Over 500 pizzas were sold, raising $250 for the scouts in addition to customer donations in tips of $75. The seventh- and eighth-graders are raising money for a trip to New York City in August. Present to accept the donation from Big Cheese on Saturday were, from left, Jasmyn Berz, Rachel Davis, Hanah White, Sierra Ouellette, Meagan Dube, troop leader Theresa Dube, Ashley Matlock, Anya O’Meara, Big Cheese owner Martha Frank, Kara Madore, Jaelynn Doody, Meaghan Ireland, Paige O’Bar, Courtney Libby and troop leader Mariah Havens. The troops’ next fundraiser for the trip will be a bottle drive in Caribou on June 1. The girls will be collecting bottles door-to-door to return to DoDo’s Market, where they will be given 6 cents per bottle.
