HOULTON, Maine — The stage of the Houlton Community Arts Center was transformed April 11-12 into the amazing world of Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland” as part of the Houlton Junior High School’s annual play production.
Directed by Jason Anderson and Jess Montgomery, the junior high students gave audience members a glimpse of life down the rabbit hole through a marvelously choreographed performance, complete with set pieces and costumes.
Victoria Holmes performed the lead role of Alice, while Anessa Wilde and Sierra Rhoda took on the parts of “Small Alice” and “Tall Alice” during the play. Dylan Johnston, Devin Ivey and Hunter Graham provided comic relief for the production with their performances of “the White Rabitt” and “Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum” respectively.
Other cast members include Olivia White, Hannah Foley and Alex Maker (Cheshire Cats); Emily Miller (Mathilda); Alannah Violette, Olivia Carr, Jade Clossey, MacKenzie Anderson and Maggie LaFond (Girls of the Golden Afternoon); Tessa McCormick (Caterpillar); John Thatcher (Mad Hatter); Josh Sutton (March Hare); Elizabeth Ward (Queen of Hearts); Owen Gallop (King of Hearts); Cassie Butler (doorknob); Emma Peterson (Dodo bird); and Cassidy May, Janet Geiger, Jeremy Cook, Jackie Green, Cassie Butler and Emily Miller (unbirthday partiers).
