Pricilla Farrar, 79, of Fort Myers, Florida, previously of Hodgdon, Maine passed away in the loving care of family and into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, April 16, 2013.

    PT Pricilla FarrarShe was preceded by her loving husband, George T. Farrar Sr. of 50-plus years of Hodgdon; parents, Theodore and Edna McClay of Houlton; and two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Theodore Nicholson. She is survived by son, George T. Farrar Jr. and his wife, Brenda, of Amity, Maine; son, Kenneth Farrar of Davie, Florida; daughter, Katherine and her husband, Joseph Rakowski of Fort Myers, Florida; daughter, Diana and her husband, Alan Hutchinson of Queensbury, NY; sisters, Evangeline Perona of Ohio and Barbara O’Donnell of Houlton; grandchildren, Kathleen, Thomas, Lewis, Courtney, Travis, Amber, Joseph, Alyssa, Allison, Aaron Marie, Alan and Jenny and many great-grandchildren.
    She was a kind, loving and generous wife and mother, who enjoyed her family, teaching and the many volunteer activities she was involved in. She taught for 25 years in the Hodgdon Elementary School system and notably was the last teacher at the one-room Amity School house. She volunteered many hours to Catholic Charities and was on many of the committees for St. Mary’s Parish in Houlton.
    Funeral arrangements have been made by Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Fort Myers, Florida. Calling hours were Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 6 – 8 p.m. and a funeral mass was held at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church on Friday, April, 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Fort Myers, Florida. Donations can be made, in lieu of flowers to Catholic Charities at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Military Street, Houlton, ME 04730 or Hope Hospice location of your choice. Pricilla will be laid to rest beside her husband with a graveside service at the Hodgdon Cemetery, in Hodgdon, Maine, on May 11 at 1:30 p.m. Please refer to www.fortmyersmemorial.com for updated information on interment date.
