PRESQUE ISLE — Cold and flu season may be coming to an end, but a relatively new strain of fever will be making its presence known this weekend — but instead of making you miserable, this one will actually have those who come down with it laughing and having a good time.
If you’re looking for a bit of fun and excitement this weekend, then check out the Presque Isle Kiwanis Club’s version of the Vegas strip right here in the Star City.
Vegas Fever, one of the organization’s most popular fund-raising events — this year benefiting the Wintergreen Arts Center — returns this weekend with a variety of fun games and activities in store. If you’re feeling lucky, try your hand at Bingo and poker; and for those a bit more reserved, there’s an auction with many great items.
The event kicks off Friday, April 19, at the Shrine Building on the Houlton Road, with a Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament beginning at 6 p.m. Space is limited to 100 entrants, so call 227-4544 to reserve a seat.
On Saturday, April 20, the fun continues with Bingo from 10 a.m. until noon, with great prizes to be won. The thrill continues later that night, with the ever-entertaining casino/auction. Doors open at 6 p.m. The casino runs from 6:30-8:30 p.m., with the auction at 9 p.m. Tickets are $30 per person or $50 per couple.
Prizes worth hundreds will be available. The event is BYOB and you must be at least 21 to enter. For more information, visit www.pikiwanis.org or look for the Presque Isle Kiwanis Club on Facebook.
