Three crowned at Mars Hill pageants
The Pre-Teen Miss Mars Hill 2013, Junior Miss Mars Hill 2013 and Teen Miss Mars Hill 2013 pageants were held on Saturday, April 6. The event began with the interviews taking place in the afternoon. The pageants began at 6 p.m., with the contestants doing their opening routine. This year’s theme was “Jungle Boogie.”

Chloe Wheeler was crowned Junior Miss Mars Hill 2013 on Saturday, April 6, at the Mars Hill and Blaine Community Center. She is the daughter of Alli and Mitch Wheeler.
Mistresses of ceremony for the evening were Brittni Mosher and Jeanette Hallett. The evening’s competition began with Sportswear followed by the Talent competition. This was followed by the Evening Gown competition. The Pre-Teen contestants told what animal they would like to be, while the Junior and Teen contestants told who inspired them and why.
The Talent Competition for the Miss Pre-Teen contestants kicked off with Sara Stitham performing a gymnastics dance to “Start the Party.” She is the daughter of Colleen and Stephen Stitham.
Sarah Maillett is the daughter of Jason and Heather Maillet. She sang “Rolling in the Deep” as her talent. She was named second runner-up.
Janelle Tweedie was named Pre-Teen Mars Hill 2013. She is the daughter of Josh and Jennifer Tweedie. She sang “Born to Entertain.”
Mersaydez Johnston performed a vocal selection entitled “Never Getting Back Together” as her talent. She is the daughter of Melissa Boynton and Rusty Johnston.
Macey Coffin is the daughter of Christopher and Stephanie Coffin. She sang “Jesus Take the Wheel” as her talent.
Katie Levesque was named the third runner-up and received the award for High Ticket Sales. The daughter of Joe and Heidi Levesque, she sang “Up” as her talent.
Elizabeth Hotham is the daughter of James and Stacie Hotham and sang “Life’s a Happy Song” as her talent. Elizabeth was named the first runner-up and Miss Congeniality.
Elaine Kingsbury sang “Girls with Guitars” as her talent. She is the daughter of Chad and Jessica Kingsbury.
Alyssa Tilley is the daughter of Corey and Tanya Tilley. She performed a gymnastics routine to “Hero.”
Claire Gebhart is the daughter of Jonathan and Maria Gebhart and sang “Defying Gravity.”
Abby Farley performed a monologue “Finding My Talent.” She is the daughter of Robert and Barbara Farley.
The first contestant for the Junior Miss Mars Hill 2013 title was Chloe Wheeler, who sang “Eye of the Tiger” as her talent. The daughter of Alli and Mitch Wheeler, she was named Junior Miss Mars Hill 2013.
Taia Tilley is the daughter of Corey and Tanya Tilley. She performed a monologue “This Is Me.”
Lillie Mahan clogged to “Disturbia” as her talent. She is the daughter of Stacey and Jenn Mahan.
The first contestant for the Teen Miss Mars Hill 2013 title was Kailyn Stitham, who sang “Hallelujah” as her talent. The daughter of Michelle Stitham and Douglas Gardiner, she was named first runner-up.
Natasha Klinger is the daughter of Janeil and Tyler Kinney. She sang “Good Girl” as her talent.
Ivy Davis performed a lyrical dance to “Halo.” She is the daughter of Jason and Heather Maillett.
Elizabeth Gillen is the daughter of Amy and Shawn Gillen. She danced to “Girl on Fire” as her talent and was crowned Teen Miss Mars Hill 2013.
Entertainment was provided throughout the evening by Little Miss Mars Hill 2013 Anna Kilcollins performing a gymnastics routine to “Puttin‘ on the Ritz,” Pre-Teen Miss Mars Hill 2012 Sydney Garrison singing “One Fine Day,” Junior Miss Mars Hill 2012 Kelsey Dominique and Teen Miss Mars Hill 2012 Courtney Milliard doing a hip-hop dance to A One Direction Mix and Miss Mars Hill 2013 Kayla Cushman singing “Redeemer.“
