Hudson, Guerrette and Worcester
earn Telegram honors
Presque Isle girls’ basketball coach Jeff Hudson has been named coach of the year as part of the Maine Sunday Telegram’s all-state basketball team, which was released Sunday.

Hudson, the team’s 14-year coach, won the school’s third Class B state title with a 51-44 victory over Lake Region March 1.
A pair of Aroostook County players were named to the Portland-based newspaper’s all-state team. Chandler Guerrette of Presque Isle was recognized as one of 12 all-state girls’ players, while Mitchell Worcester of Washburn was one of 12 boys’ players selected to the elite team.
Guerrette, a 1,000-point scorer during her four-year career, was the offensive catalyst in Presque Isle’s state game victory over Lake Region. The 5-5 guard averaged 16.1 points, 3.4 assists, 2.9 steals and 2.9 rebounds this past season.
Worcester finished his career with 2,322 career points. During his senior season, the 6-3 guard-forward averaged 35.1 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists. He scored 50-plus points twice during the regular season.
Allie Clement of McAuley was named girls’ player of the year, while Jonesport-Beals’ Garet Beal received the boys’ honor. Phil Conley of South Portland was selected as the boys’ coach of the year.
