The National Honor Society is pleased to announce that Caribou High School collected 44 completed food baskets for our local soup kitchen, The Bread of Life.
On December 3, 2012 a box was delivered to each homeroom, asking for them to fill it with various items, such as a bag of flour and sugar, a box of stuffing, a package or can of gravy mix, a jar of fruit juice, a small canned ham, cleaning supplies and more.

Each box was collected by National Honor Society members on December 20, 2012 and was delivered on the same day to the Bread of Life Soup Kitchen for their use and distribution to families during the holiday season.
The homeroom that collected the largest amount of food items and/or completed food boxes was awarded hot chocolate and homemade cookies on December 21, 2012.
This program was chaired by Mackenzie Belyea, NHS vice president, and Ginger Kieffer, NHS member.
Items requested for each basket were:
• A can of fruit filling for the pie
• A bag of sugar
• 10 lbs of potatoes
• A package or can of gravy mix
• A bag of four sweet potatoes
• Cream of mushroom, celery, chicken, etc. soup
• A jar of fruit juice
• A can of evaporated milk
• Pie shell mix, including an aluminum baking tin
• A holiday bread mix
• A can of cranberry sauce, jellied or whole berry
• A small canned ham
The Bread of Life Soup Kitchen asked that cleaning supplies such as 10 -20 oz dish soap, a four- to six-pack of hand soap, paper towels, four-pack toilet paper, and gift cards to Shop n’ Save or Sleepers be added to this Christmas’ food baskets due to  the lack of these items. Homemade items are also welcome.
