FORT FAIRFIELD – Sgt. Frederick K. “Freddie” Theriault, retired, 60, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday afternoon, April 13, 2013, at a Presque Isle healthcare facility. He was born February 20, 1953, in Fort Fairfield, the son of Frederick E. and Beulah (Dumond) Theriault. He was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School Class of 1972 and went on to serve his country for over thirty years with the Maine National Guard and was a member of the American Legion Ray Goding Post Number 88, Presque Isle.
Freddie had been employed by Maine Packers, Caribou, the A & P and Interstate Processing Plant, Fort Fairfield, as well as several area farmers, most recently Thibeau Farms, Fort Fairfield, who Freddie thought of as his extended family.
He was predeceased by his parents; one sister, Gail Marie Pelletier; one special uncle, William “Wink” Dumond.
He is survived by one son, Jason Grivois of Washington State; one uncle and aunt, Loomis “Lloyd” and Anna-Rae Dumond of East Corinth; special cousins, Randy Theriault of Fort Fairfield, Michael Dumond of Michigan, Gordon Dumond of Caribou, Stephen Dumond of New York State, Kathleen J. Ullman of Fort Fairfield, Elaine Sargent, Lynn Cheever, Lisa Dumond, and Julie Holt, all of New Hampshire; special friends, Jerry Morrow of Webberville, Michigan; Jerry Findlen of Clinton, Keith Thibeau of Fort Fairfield, Diana King of Caribou. He will also be fondly remembered by his church family at St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield, as well as other extended family members.
Friends may call Wednesday, April 17, 2013, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, 147 Main St., Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held after the service at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post Number 6187, Presque Isle St., Fort Fairfield. Interment with military honors will take place later in the spring at the St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield.
