CARIBOU — The Caribou VFW Post 9389 Auxiliary recently held an awards ceremony at Teague Park School for fifth-grade students who participated in an essay contest the Auxiliary sponsored entitled “What America Means to Me!”

Members of the Caribou VFW Auxiliary presented Teague Park School fifth-graders with certificates and awards for the Auxiliary’s “What America Means to Me!” essay contest. The 85 students who participated each received a pencil with the Pledge of Allegiance on it, a ruler with the Pledge of Allegiance and pictures of the past presidents on it, a booklet on flag etiquette and a flag. Certificates were given to the top 10 students, and the top three winners received monetary awards in the amounts of $25, $15 and $10.
