Caribou’s newest city councilor was appointed on Monday night. Filling the vacated seat of former Councilor Mary Kate Barbosa, Aaron Kouhoupt will serve as councilor until a new councilor can be elected by the community in November. Kouhoupt, shown at right, currently serves as the Compliance Officer and In-house Council for Katahdin Trust Company. A graduate of Caribou High School, Kouhoupt says that he chose to run for the appointment to be more involved in the community. He’s shown here sharing a laugh with Caribou’s Mayor Gary Aiken.
