Robert K. Brown of Washburn grew up on the Hardison Road in Caribou where he attended a country school in the late 1930s. A friend who owned a filling station and parts store bought a shiny new 1939 Plymouth and gave Brown and another boy their first ride in a brand new car. In 1984, Brown saw a similar car for sale in Augusta and he bought it. He often drives his pride and joy in Aroostook County parades.
